Police in the southeastern region of British Columbia have reported that a search recovery team comprised of volunteers has located a submerged vehicle containing human remains believed to be associated with a man who went missing in 2004. The Creston RCMP announced that the vehicle was discovered in the Kootenay River last week close to an area referred to as “the old ferry landing.”
The search team had been actively looking for George Franklin Davis, who vanished from the Creston vicinity in July 2004. The RCMP enlisted the assistance of an underwater team to retrieve the vehicle on Monday.
Authorities have stated that the description of the vehicle and its license plate align with records linked to Davis. Although his identity has not been officially confirmed, law enforcement officials are inclined to believe that the recovered remains are indeed his. The RCMP indicated that they do not suspect foul play in Davis’s demise, but they are conducting an investigation pending forensic analysis and confirmation of the remains by the B.C. Coroners Service.
