An 18-year veteran of the Hamilton Police Service has been charged with violating a court order, according to Hamilton police. The 47-year-old officer was arrested and charged by the Halton Regional Police Service for breaching a condition of a court-ordered agreement, as stated in a news release issued on Saturday.
Hamilton Police stated that they would refrain from providing further comments on the matter, citing its involvement in the court proceedings.
Questions posed by CBC Hamilton regarding the timing of the charges and the specific conditions allegedly breached by the officer were left unanswered by Halton police at the time of publication.
In August 2025, the officer faced charges of assault and mischief in connection with two domestic incidents that occurred in Hamilton in 2022 and 2023. The officer was subsequently released on conditions, Hamilton police confirmed.
The charges stemmed from a report by an alleged victim, prompting Hamilton police to take action. The identity of the officer was not disclosed by the authorities.
