A young child sustained critical injuries in a collision between a car and a motorcycle on Sunday in West Chezzetcook, N.S. Emergency responders were summoned to the scene at the junction of Highway 207 and Bellefontaine Road at 4:30 p.m., as per an official statement from the RCMP. The child was a passenger on the motorcycle, which was being operated by a 43-year-old man from Grand Desert, N.S.
According to the release, the motorcycle was heading south on Highway 207 when the car, driven by a 28-year-old man from West Chezzetcook, attempted a left turn onto the highway from Bellefontaine Road, resulting in the collision. The car driver received on-site medical attention and was later discharged, while the motorcycle operator was transported to the hospital by ambulance for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
An investigation into the incident is currently underway.
