A man aged 45 residing in the northeast Avalon has been charged with 46 new offenses related to sexual violence against females. The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary’s Child Abuse and Sexual Assault unit had previously charged the man in February after a youth reported sexual violence at a residence. The initial charges included sexual assault, sexual interference, voyeurism, and the possession and production of child sexual abuse material. The man’s identity is shielded by a court-ordered publication ban.
Following a thorough examination of various electronic devices, authorities discovered an additional 20 victims of sexual violence associated with the man, comprising 15 youths and five adults. Subsequently, on Wednesday, police filed 46 new charges against the man after the investigation. These charges encompass 15 counts of voyeurism, 14 counts of possessing child sexual exploitation material, 13 counts of producing it, and one count of accessing it. The new allegations also involve sexual interference, sexual assault, and permitting sexual activity within a household.
The man is scheduled to make a court appearance on Thursday, as stated in the recent press release.
