Rush hour traffic congestion has occurred on Highway 401 near Highway 8 in Cambridge following a three-vehicle collision, leading authorities to advise individuals to steer clear of the vicinity. Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Sgt. Kerry Schmidt informed that all eastbound lanes of Highway 401 in that area have been shut down.
In a video shared on X, Schmidt disclosed that the collision involved three vehicles, including a dump truck that overturned, necessitating a substantial clean-up operation. Emergency services transported two individuals to the hospital, one sustaining minor injuries while the other was more severely injured.
Schmidt emphasized that the clean-up process could extend for several hours as crews work to clear the scene and restore normal traffic flow.
