“New Brunswick RCMP Investigates Potential Homicide in Moncton Area”

Published:

The New Brunswick RCMP is currently investigating the death of a man discovered in a residence outside Moncton as a potential homicide. The victim has been identified as Michael Eric Claude Steeves by the police. Initially responding to a report of a sudden death on August 4 at a residence on Route 910 in Shenstone, located approximately 30 kilometers south of Moncton, officers found the body of a 57-year-old man at the scene.

As of a recent news release, details regarding the cause of Steeves’ death and the reasoning behind the classification as a homicide have not been disclosed. It remains unclear whether Steeves resided in the Shenstone residence.

The RCMP is seeking to communicate with a male driver who stopped to engage with an individual walking on Route 910 in the Shenstone and Hillsborough regions. Additionally, they are interested in contacting a woman who might have offered transportation to an individual on Route 910 between Shenstone and Hillsborough or on Main Street in Hillsborough during the night of August 2 to August 3.

Authorities are urging anyone present in the area at the time or possessing information related to the suspected homicide to reach out to the police. CBC News has reached out to the RCMP for further details on the investigation.
