Summerside law enforcement authorities have launched investigations into two separate indecent incidents sharing similarities. According to a press release issued on Wednesday, one incident occurred in December 2025 and the other in August 2026.
The first case involved a 17-year-old girl who was walking through the County Fair Mall parking lot around 8 a.m. on August 20. A man sitting in a vehicle called her over under the pretense of asking for directions. However, upon approaching the vehicle, the man exposed his genitals and requested a sexual act from the girl. She promptly refused, left the scene, and promptly reported the incident to the police.
The circumstances of this investigation parallel those of another incident reported on December 11, 2025, as per the release. In that occurrence, a woman parked her car in the Walmart parking lot when a neighboring vehicle parked beside her. The driver of that vehicle engaged in conversation with the woman, and when she turned towards him, she observed that he was exposed and engaging in indecent behavior.
The release further mentioned that a suspect was identified in connection with the December incident, resulting in the arrest of a 32-year-old man from the Summerside area. The individual is set to appear in court at a later date to address one count of committing an indecent act. However, the August incident remains an ongoing investigation with no arrests or charges made as of yet.
