A man was discovered deceased on Highway 1 in Burnaby, B.C., early on Tuesday, as reported by the B.C. Highway Patrol of the RCMP. The injuries sustained by the victim indicated a collision with a vehicle. To maintain the integrity of evidence, the eastbound lanes of the highway, where the man was located, were temporarily closed.
Sgt. Michael McLaughlin of B.C. Highway Patrol stated that all potential scenarios are under investigation and no possibilities have been ruled out yet. The investigation was taken over by the highway patrol due to suspicions that the victim might have been struck by a hit-and-run vehicle.
Following the investigation, the highway was reopened later on Tuesday. Authorities are urging anyone who witnessed unusual events or possesses dashcam footage of Highway 1 near Kensington between 5:30 a.m. and 6 a.m. PT to contact B.C. Highway Patrol in Burnaby.
