Two men and a woman have been charged in relation to a home invasion incident that occurred in Truro Heights, Nova Scotia, during the weekend. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) disclosed that they were alerted about four individuals who forcibly entered a dwelling on Parkwood Drive early on Saturday morning while the occupants were present.
The police stated that a woman, armed with a knife, threatened the residents with harm if her accompanying male companions were not permitted to enter. Subsequently, after a brief period, the woman departed, leaving the two men inside the residence. The RCMP reported that a 27-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman were physically assaulted during the intrusion, sustaining injuries that were not life-threatening.
The assailants departed the scene in a Hyundai Elantra, but were later apprehended by officers from the Truro Police Service. A 31-year-old individual from Sipekne’katik was charged with two counts of assault, two counts of uttering threats, and mischief. He was remanded into custody and appeared in Truro provincial court on Monday.
Moreover, a 34-year-old man from Bayside and a 19-year-old woman from Truro are also facing charges related to the home invasion and are scheduled to appear in court on December 16. The fourth individual taken into custody was released without charges, as confirmed by the police.
