“Pedestrian Struck on Riverside Drive, Critical Condition”

Paramedics in Ottawa reported that a woman sustained critical injuries after being hit on Riverside Drive near Billings Bridge early Tuesday morning. Emergency responders were dispatched to the vicinity of Data Centre Road at approximately 4:30 a.m. Riverside Drive’s northbound lanes between Heron and Data Centre roads have been shut down by authorities. Consequently, motorists traveling along this major thoroughfare will be diverted onto Heron unless they opt for an earlier detour. Ottawa police have reiterated the importance of road safety on multiple occasions this month, highlighting an unusually high number of fatalities so far this year.
