Canada’s national men’s soccer team will be missing some key players for upcoming friendly matches in Toronto and Montreal. Captain Alphonso Davies and goalkeeper Maxime Crepeau are not part of the 26-player roster announced by head coach Jesse Marsch. According to Canada Soccer, Davies from Bayern Munich is unavailable due to his marriage celebrations and honeymoon, while Crepeau from Orlando City has been excused for personal reasons. Moise Bombito, a center-back, will also be absent as he is scheduled for surgery on his left tibia following his participation in the FIFA World Cup earlier this year. Marsch’s squad includes 17 players who were part of the national team’s remarkable World Cup journey, where they were knocked out by Morocco in the Round of 16. Ranked 30th globally, Canada will first play against 49th-ranked Chile in Toronto on September 26, followed by a match against 50th-ranked Peru in Montreal on October 3. The team will then face the United States, ranked 16th, in St. Paul, Minnesota on October 6.
