Four young individuals trespassed and used the outdoor display pool at Pools By Angelo, prompting concerns from the Windsor business owners. Angelo Mariani Jr., the manager and co-owner of Pools By Angelo, emphasized the importance of community safety following the incident. A social media post by the business sparked public discussion after Mariani Jr. shared a security camera video showing the trespassers on the property in the early hours of Aug. 19.
The incident occurred when the individuals scaled a fence around 4:30 a.m. to access the display pool located on Jefferson Boulevard. Apart from splashing in the water and playing around the pool, the trespassers tampered with equipment and attempted to enter the building, leaving behind alcohol containers and vapes.
Mariani Jr. highlighted the potential hazards of the display pool’s features, such as waterfalls and concrete fixtures, which could pose risks to unaware visitors, particularly if they are under the influence. While expressing relief that no injuries occurred, Mariani Jr. stressed the company’s responsibility in ensuring safety.
Despite not filing a police report, Mariani Jr. stated that the business aims to remind individuals to respect their property. Addressing concerns about the reaction to the incident, he emphasized the need for parental awareness regarding such activities involving young individuals. The Windsor Police Service confirmed they had not received any reports regarding the trespassing incident from either the business or an alarm company.
