Despite Supra’s 12 shots compared to Hamilton’s eight, with three shots on target to the Forge’s two, Hamilton managed to maintain a slight advantage with a 6-5 lead in corner kicks. The upcoming semifinal match between CF Montreal and the Vancouver Whitecaps on Wednesday will determine who will face Hamilton Forge in the final on October 21.
The Telus Canadian Championship is recognized as the premier domestic knockout tournament in Canada, where clubs vie for the prestigious Voyageurs Cup and a chance to compete in the CONCACAF Champions Cup on an international stage. Historically, only MLS clubs from Montreal, Vancouver, and Toronto FC have claimed the Voyageurs Cup since its inception in 2002. The Vancouver Whitecaps have a strong track record, winning the title four consecutive times, including a 4-2 victory over Vancouver FC in last year’s final.
